The Heart of the Valley YMCA offers dance classes for students 3-18 and competition teams for ages 4 to 18. All HOTV and Fox West Dance Factory classes will participate in the Spring Dance Revue. Seven week session dance classes are also offered for pre-school and youth excluding a recital performance.
The HOTV dance program teaches fundamental skills and techniques in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, Rhythm & Movement and/or Hip Hop. All dance classes assist in developing body coordination and flexibility while expanding a positive self image. The dance program at the HOTV and Fox West ensures quality instruction by keeping all classes to a maximum of 10-12 students per class with the majority of classes at 8 students or less.
The Heart of the Valley dance staff has over 20 years of experience in teaching and conducting classes. Each instructor teaches within their specialty areas, which aides in giving the best possible dance instruction possible to all students and results in high quality performances.
“Dance Factory” – 28 week program (September - May)
Registration: Please watch for the upcoming on-line Dance Factory registration to begin in May. The HOTV program lists class descriptions and ages next to classes in our Y program books only as a guide in our progressive dance levels. Please register for classes based on this guideline, however, please know that our instructors are trained to watch each student closely the first few weeks of class and will not hesitate to suggest a class level change if she sees fit. We want all of our students to enjoy their classes yet also be challenged during their classes.
Dance Factory Dance Revue:
All Dance Factory students will perform in our Dance Revue in Spring of each year. Our Heart of the Valley Act II students with average class age of 8 and up will perform in our Friday evening show and our Heart of the Valley Act I class average age of 3-7 along with all Fox West students will perform in our matinee show on Saturday afternoon.

Non-refundable Costume Fee for class ages 3-7 $55.00
Non-refundable Costume Fee for class ages 8 and up $65.00
Non-refundable costume fees are due at the time of registration in full.
“Fox Cities Dance Academy” – Competitive Teams (June - May)
Fox Cities Dance Academy starts off their season each year with a dance mini camp, which is held for 4 weeks beginning the last week in May. Team auditions are held in June of each year for ages 4-18 in the areas of Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical. FCDA students begin their dance season in July/August and run until May. These groups will compete at 3-4 competitions during the months of Feb.-May traveling to Madison, Chicago, Minneapolis, Appleton and/or Green Bay and end their season with their team Dance Revue in May.
Informational FCDA packets will be available in April with mini camp and audition dates and times for the 2009-2010 Fox Cities Dance Academy Season. Please watch for this!
